We all know that Tianamen Square is censored in google.cn for political reasons, but listen to this:

A few Russian Hackers recently took down Livejournal, Facebook, and Twitter, and even tried to take down google, which lagged a bit but held firm. They were trying to take down a politically active journalist that has a certain amount of respect and influence. He was from one of those countries Russia hates for some wierd reason. They were silencing him for some political comments or others.

Now, and post on those three sites in reference to him cannot go through, to protect the stability of the sites.

He has become He-Who-Cannot-be-named.

Imagine if entire governments could threaten major sites on the internet with DDoS attacks unil they cesored topics of political inconvenience.

While this is far fetched, think what would happen if groups with a lot of power and influence got to google.

Imagine a world where any search could be subtly influenced by any political powers.
Censorship has found a way into the internet.
